If your wallet is not set up correctly you may not be able to send coins or see your correct balance.
The first thing to check is if you are on the correct version, to do this open “Help” in the toolbar of the Core Wallet and click “About NavCoin Core”.
This will open a window that will list the current version number.
Next open www.navcoin.org/downloads and compare the latest version number there with your current version, if you’re out of date then update your wallet.
For info on how to update see: How to Update your Core Wallet.
If your version is up to date then make sure you are connected to the network and your blockchain has finished syncing.
A fully synced Core Wallet will display a tick inside a circle in the bottom right corner.
A Core Wallet which is still syncing will show a progress bar along the bottom and/or have spinning arrows in the bottom right corner.
If you’re not connected to the network then your wallet will say “Connecting to NavCoin network” on the home screen.
If your wallet is not fully synced you can wait for it to fully sync via the network or you can “bootstrap” it with an up to date blockchain. Read How to Bootstrap your Core Wallet for info on how to do that.
If your wallet is not showing any connections, make sure that you are connected to the internet and your firewall is not blocking the ports NavCoin uses.
If your wallet is on the latest version and it’s fully synced and connected to the network then it’s ready to be set up for use.
To learn how to secure your wallet with a passphrase read: How to encrypt and back up your NavCoin Core wallet
If your wallet is connected, synced and encrypted you should be ready to go.
