How to open the firewall ports for NavCoin Core and NavPi

Please note that these steps are only necessary if you are getting zero connections to your NavCoin wallet.

On MacOS X the firewall is disabled by default. On NavPi port 44440 is unlocked by default. If you are on Mac or the NavPi you can skip directly to unlocking ports in your router if you are not getting any connections.

Steps on Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10:

Open the control panel and go to “System and Security” -> “Windows Defender Firewall”. Click on “Advanced Settings” on the left.

Go to “Incoming rules”. Click on “New rule” on the right. In the new window select “Port” as rule-type and click next. Select TCP and enter the port 44440 and click next. Make sure that the checkmark is set to “Allow connection”. Chose the type of network where this rule is enforced (for safety reasons it’s recommended to remove the checkmark for public networks). As name put “NavCoin”. Click “Finish”.

Repeat these steps in the “Outgoing rules” section as well.

You may need to restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

Steps for unlocking ports in your router:

The steps for unlocking firewall ports in your router vary depending on your model but it always involves logging into your routers web interface.

For the specific steps please use Google and search “(router model) allow firewall port”.

Allow the TCP port 44440 for both incoming and outgoing connections.

If you run into issues here contact your ISP. We cannot help you with specific router issues.
